This cane uses kaleidoscope techniques to create a snowflake cane. First create 'half' of a design by inserting strips of white clay between shapes of blue clay. Then the cane is cut in half and the two sides are matched together to mirror each other. Once the resulting cane is reduced, it is then cut into six equal lengths, which are arranged into the snowflake design. Finally, the gaps between the 'arms' of the snowflake are filled in with blue clay so that the cane can be rolled out without distorting the design:
