Carly Langridge

My love affair with clay started in secondary school in a after school club. Once I left school, it meant that I lost my access to the Kiln and I found that I really missed it. Fast forward to 2001 and I am 20 with a busy life. I got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which left me house/ bed bound for several years.
Since then, I have been working on getting better and I am now at a stage where I am no where near as bad as I was, but I am still ill enough to be disabled and bed bound a lot. I wanted to find a way to sculpt from my bed and I found this with Fimo.
This truly amazing product meant that I was no longer bored. Since I picked it up, I have been addicted to it, so a few months after getting into it I decided to open a Etsy shop. Carly's Creative Clay was born (1st July 2015).
I focus on home decor items like vases, teapots, coasters, ornaments ect. As you will see, my main love is trinket / jewellery boxes (more than half my shop is devoted to them). I love making my artwork have a functional purpose apart from beauty.
I have a massive love of animals, so that reflects in my creations. I have made the decision to never use moulds. No judgement, I just want to be a freehand artist.
I love taking commissions, I really enjoy trying to produce someone else's vision.
I am truly grateful for polymer clay and the new life that I am slowly building with it.
