September 22-29, La Cascade, Durfort, Provence:
Pietra Dura in Polymer Clays

A new imitative technique-
Take a Little Bit of France Home!

Mornings are classes in a lovely studio in this historic sunfilled town, afternoons are open to enjoy the creative peacefulness of the studio or go on different trips around the countryside. Catered meals outside on the terrace overlooking the river, and all is magic!

Pietra Dura uses thin sheets of different 'stones' to assemble miniature images, as if inlaid. The tradition dates from the Rennaisance. We will be making brooches and pendants, and using the landscape and architecture of the French countryside as our inspiration for images. We'll also mix some of the different earths, spices, and elements from teh land itself into these imitative stone laminae, and you'll take your own piece of Provence home with you to remind you of our time in France!

Cost is $1700 US, includes bed, most meals, some materials and miscellany. You can pay by Paypal, just email me. Class size is limited to eight people, and there are only a few spaces left. A deposit of $500 holds your space.
