Erica Sturla - Original Art in Polymer Clay

I trained at art school in the 80s and specialised in Fashion illustration and journalism. My working background is graphic design and illustration.

For the last nine years I have worked extensively in Polymer clay and acrylics, to create scenes with colourful, three-dimensional and quirky characters set against painted canvas backgrounds, often featuring the familiar Sussex scenes I love (and usually a loitering seagull!)

My designs appear on a range of greetings cards featuring my humorous clay figures which are sold exclusively throughout the UK by a leading card retailer.

My clay and acrylic works are sold in galleries as well as online and may be commissioned as unique mementoes of a special event. Individuals or whole groups can appear in the picture in a chosen setting which is special to them. A Wedding scene was produced with each guest appearing in their special wedding outfit!

Current projects include writing and illustrating children’s picture books with my lively polymer clay personalities.
