A Workshop at Curborough Craft Centre, Lichfield, Staffs

Sunday 13th July 2008

Are your polymer clay creations 'rough around the edges' and lacking the 'wow' factor?

This workshop will help remedy the situation and you'll always have perfectly finished pieces to be proud of.

I will go through tips I have learned through practice and experience on bead construction - piercing, smoothing, shaping, sanding and buffing and whether to varnish or not. Then I will show a variety of chains, findings, ribbon, buna cord and leather with stringing ideas. Crystals, spacer beads and other embellishments all help to 'lift' polymer clay from 'plastic' to spectacular!

We will start the day by making a cane and let it rest while we go through my tips and I hope you'll all have 'wrinkles' to share. After lunch we will make beads, pendants or earrings and put everyone's ideas into action.

Please bring ½ block each of two colours that look good together, one block of white, a board to work on and your usual toolkit.

Alison Gallant.
